Not really digging the finish, and I agree, the video was pretty stupid.

I suppose this appeals to someone out there, hence them being made. I don't see what's so special about them anyway, they just look like normal Strat's, Tele's, etc. with "special" finishes. Anyone care to elaborate?

Cool video!!! Great production! :)

I just wonder what would have happened if it had been a sexy vintage tweed case??

Humor aside: I guess the vid would've been more sucessfull with the girl ripping the guitar out of the guys hands, plugging it in and riffing some smokin' hot blues rock.
There's nothing more sexy in the world than a georgeous looking girl who actually knows how to play an electric guitar!!

Remember, dear Fender team, we're PLAYERS! We don't just want to look at that beauty (or should I say THOSE beauties, ha ha ha)!

The guy's too "clean & cool" as well. Looks like a yuppie banker, not a rock'n'roller.

I wouldn't mind owning one, I just can't see spending that kind of dough foir it. I do believe this guitar is being merketed for a specific market, and I am not in that market right now.

I like the Select Basses' especially the Select Jazz bass, I think I might be adding one to my Jazz bass arsenal in June when my birthday rolls around as a present to myself :) & the street price is a lot more digestable at around $2400. - $2500. still a little high but still better then the advertised $3,199.99 on the Fender Website..... :D
I love the Select line....Good Job Fender.

The Select Jazz Bass has a lot of nice features....but does anyone know if it's got a contured heel (for easier access to higher frets) like the American Deluxe??
I was viewing the Naam reviews & in one clip I noticed when they flipped the guitars over to show the backside the heels were contured but when they briefly showed the backside of the P bass it looked like it wasn't contured & they never shewed the backside of the Jazz Bass......the contured heel is not a deal breaker but I do have it on my American Deluxe & I think it's a nice feature. :)

Enjoyed the movie, and of course the girl is for sell you dont think she did that for free?

Its a great movie or product commercial; over at Gibson all we get is Henry calling us names and breaking cheap SG's. I guess Gibson does it a little different.............. lol We were promised a revolution and all we got was 70's technology in a real ugly guitar.

Beautiful instruments. I have not seen a price tag yet, but I could see them going for around 2.5.
