....well this was a great purchase, very articulate with many tonal options I love it. However, I need to find a cab and speakers to suit the amp. Any thoughts, ideas or opinions from my Fender Brethren???

Beaubs, my only thought is a cab with 2/10"s, not sure which model though.

Thanks Sbls. This past Friday I played through a 2x12 Vox with Vintage 30's, an Ampeg 2 x 10, an Orange 2 x 12 with vintage 30's, and finally an Orange 4 x 10. The 4 x 10 Orange sounded great! Question; the Orange amps were rated at 16 ohms and the amp has only a 4 and 8 ohm selection.....I played using the 8 ohm choice. Will this hurt my amp in any way...playing at 8 ohms through a 16 ohm 4 x 10 cab.?

Yes running an 8ohm amp. thru a 16 ohm cabinet will damage your amp. Not anything that can't be fixed. Its not immediate bit it affects the capacitors. Retroverbial could give you a better explanation. 4 ohms works for a single speaker cab and 8ohms for a 2 speaker cab. (generally speaking)

Ok....after some research, I think that I am going to order a 2 x 10 cabinet....wired at 8 ohms using Eminence Copperhed speakers. This should give .me a good mirror of the 60's version of the Vibrolux Reverb. With that said any thought of running a 4 x 10 cab? What would the sonic differces be? I did test a 2 x 12 side by side with a 4 x 10 and there seemed to be a "wider" sound. Both amps were 16 ohms run through the Encore as listed above. Can one purchase an 8 ohm 4 x 10 cabinet?

Comments, ideas and opinions welcome.

Beaubs
