I don't think its quite fair to call that an anti-fender post.
Someone did post about this when it was current, and I'd be interested to know if cort have done anything to improve conditions for their workers since then, if anyone know anything.

I wasn't trying to make a first impression. I just found this out myself and thought I'd let others know. I own several fender guitars and products and its not about unions. If you would have actually watched the video you would have seen the barbaric conditions these people were working under. Its a human thing not a union thing. Plus I don't see anything wrong with a company paying a decent wage to a fellow American. I for one am willing to pay the extra $ to help my fellow Americans even if it means making sacrifices and waiting until I have enough $ to buy an American made product.

I did not know this. What's ironic is...when I was playing a few Korean *and* other Asian guitars, ...I could tell whoever was involved with the production of the guitars really hated their job as the mistakes were so glaringly intentional, yet the rest of the guitar so perfect, it seemed like an act of spite, then it dawned on me today while reading the article...it was a call for help! ...I was right. The mistakes made were intentional, to put the issue into the mainstream news, nice. wow. Now I know why I'm so turned off by Asian guitars (not Asian people) -- the workers were not being treated fairly so they gave back in work wut their wages reflected, zero gain piles of stress! Karma is a bee-otch!

And, I gotta tell you, I give humble praise to those Asian workers, they can make a mean feckin' guitar when they get a living wage! The next time you are dealing with a glaring defect in your guitar remember the mistake was made to get your attention simply to point out that the guitar builders were left to starve with low wages in deplorable working conditions to bring you an instrument that would bring you a lifetime of joy and pleasure and do you think that that's fair??? Hell no!

...this year, we should see impeccable specimens, all highly playable, from workers now enjoying life due to the fruits of their labor. If your 2009/2010/2011/2012 or future guitar is defective, reject it, 100%, don't even buy it used, regardless of where it came from.

Man, do you know how many guitars got wrecked that could have been master pieces??? feck.

Thanks again to the international workers for making sure we know why what would have otherwise been impeccable instruments were intentional rejects, all of them, in one way or another! I'm shocked companies like Fender allowed those glaring defective rejects to be sold to the public. I thought it was Fender being careless. ...Fender, ...don't you have lunch with the workers who are making your instruments? Can't you tell they are not happy and are producing junk to get our attention?

You don't have to worry about that as soon as they began to fight for better working conditions the factory was moved to China. Shame on them for wanting to work like human beings. I'm sure you wouldn't want to work under those conditions. try watching the video.

As I have said before here, when I talked with the president of Cort/Mighty Mite he was gracious and helpful and a pretty cool Bro IMHO. As for the BS that you're selling, I don't believe a word or a video or any propaganda spread by unions. I live in a free country and although under attack constantly by unions and their ilk hopefully this country will always be free. Fender/FMIC is a great company, I have played Fender guitars and played through Fender amplifiers all of my life. They wouldn't do anything to harm anyone and never have and never will. You signed on this Forum to mess with us not to talk music or instruments obviously from the content of your first post. You messed with us so now, hopefully, you will disappear, please.

As a person who has purchased and owns fender products I have every right to say whatever I want. I guess they brought a film crew to Korea and hired a bunch of actors to lie about working conditions. Please... this is a discussion about Fender and their abuse of their workers in Korea don't turn it into a union bashing thread. You brought up unions not me. I'm just a proud American who feels American workers and craftsmanship are the best but you have every right to disagree which obviously you do.
