Hey everyone!

This is my first post here in the forum and I'd like to ask for your opinion.

I've had 5 guitar lessons and learned the rest by myself since July 2011. Today I recorded and uploaded a video using "Have You Ever Loved a Woman" by Eric Clapton as a backing track.

I'd like to ask for your opinion and if you have time, give me some feedback on the positive and negative aspects of my playing, please!

I'm aware that it has a lot of mistakes, but what do you think?

Thanks and here's the link:

Thank you very much :)

I don't see any mistakes that practice wont cure. I think your on the right track and doing exceptionally well. Wow only 6 months. Keep up the good work. 8)

Thanks a lot, guys! Means a lot to me to know that my determination is becoming something.

I really need to work on the bends I do where I try to mute the strings and bend the 1st or 2nd string. Anyway, that was fun to record and in the future It will be much better!

Excellent progress, young man.

Now on to more important issues, ie: decor. That flourescent green paint has GOT to go. It is the single biggest impediment to your "feeling" the blues. All the great blues players sacrificed something or someone for their craft. Your sacrifice must start with those walls.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

For only been playing for 6-7 months, I think you are pretty darn good. I know at 6 months of playing I was no where near that good. As mentioned, some issues here or there, but nothing a little more time and practice can't cure. Careful not to over or under bend and mutting the strings where needed. You know the stuff that only time and practice will cure. Keep up the good job. By the way, lovely guitar. It might be just my computer, but if you turn your treble down just a bit more you can get a more bluesy sound.

Thanks, man! And you are totally right about the trebly sound. I was reading about tonality and equalizing on the amplifiers and I got a really cool, bluesy sound here. Put the mids at and boost the bass and the treble. Added a lot of gain and I got somewhere near where I want to get, but it's just not THE one. I have a Roland Cube, so I always use the simulated Fender Twin Reverb or the Fender Tweed Bassman. Great, great sounds I got today. I'll record a new video to show you guys the tone!
