Hey Guys,

New here but a long time follower of the fender Lounge! I need some advice on a good looper pedal. I want to be able to lay down a rhythm track and be able to practice solos and scales over it. I am looking at either the Boss RC-2 or Boss RC-3 and was wondering what everyone thought. also looking for other possible options for a decent looper pedal!

Thanks for the help!

I have a Boss RC-2 which I bought for the same reason. It has been a big help and it has opened my eyes to the importance of timing.

what ever you get, make sure it can " quantize" your loops.
It definately helps your timing but it even better when you have no one to practice with.
If anything, get the rc30 as you have more control with the two pedals.
I worked horrendous overtime, saved bucket loads of scrap to get the rc300. Best bit of kit I have bought for a long time.
I lay the bassline and drum rythem on track3 for the right amount of measures and loop it.
on track 2, I put the rhythem guitar and put layers at certain points and loop that too.
on track one, I put riffs and just one shot them.
Then I play with myself in the nicest possible way.

I see what you’re saying about the RC30 may get this one instead of the RC2 or RC3. May need to save up a few more bucks for the RC30... Kinda want something simple too. Ill post some pics and maybe a video reviewing whatever I end up with. I think there is a pedal called the JamMan anyone have one of these pedals?? How does it compare to the Boss Products?

I downloaded the instructions for both the Jamman and Boss pedals and then read them at my leisure, went the shop and played around with them but with a better understanding of how to use them both.
The jamman was a lot harder to use, I couldn't figure it out easily and neither could the guy in the shop whereas the Boss just flowed easily. Also I don't think the Jamman quantized the end result, you had to start and finish exactly on the beats or you had a dead spot in the loop which was one the reasons I went the Boss route.
The other reason I picked the RC300 was the MIDI for the drum machine and the mixer outputs, the stereo capability for two amps and loop effects.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Take the Boss RC30 and the T.C. Helicon Harmony G, loop them together and you may never leave your house again
