If you can get the serial number, send it to consumerrelations@fender.com and ask them. Might take a few days or so for them to get back to you, but they will reply.

Good luck. Let us know how it goes and post photos of what you decide to buy!

Probably won't be poplar though, my understanding is most MIMs are either alder or ash. Mine is alder and I love it!

I have always had an answer off them the same day but I'm sure response times can vary due to the work load that people have etc.

And does it really make a difference which wood it is if the answer comes back either way will you use that information to make a decision weather or not to buy that particular guitar?

Well, maybe, it is like a special plus for me,This particular guitar have a few more plus,
the original owner says that he went to a joe satriani concert and later he went backstage to meet Joe and he asked Joe if he could sign his strat pickguard on the back,he showed me the signature and a few pics of him with Joe,the guitar comes with noiseless pups, tremolo cover and case, the asking price=250 $ cash
Should I get it?

And how much time did you waited for an answer? I really need the answer, what if someone buys it before me !

I'd say go and play it and if you like how it plays, do it!

$250 isn't a bad price if it's in good condition and think how you'd be kicking yourself if you waited to hear back and then found out you wanted it and someone had already bought it.

Then again, go there with $200 cash and ask if he'll take that. If not, pull out another $20 and so on until you agree on a price...
