Born into rich family, cover famous band's most famous song, cry if you don't get your way.

Yes, he's good, but pit him against a shredder and he'll get torn apart. That's what happens to a lot of kids anyways.

Because metal is harder to play than hair metal.

You said a mouthful there, my friend. Not that I would consider GNR to be metal but....

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I didn't say it was really bad. I like some of it. It's just overplayed a lot. I'd be a lot happier if people on the radio would play Quiet Riot more than once in a blue moon. Quiet Riot has my favorite metal song ever, it's very light metal at best, but still metal.

Hair metal = Light metal, walking the line between metal and hard rock. And at least one member of the band has to have long, curly hair, or long, poofy hair, how the name hair metal got into play.

No big deal. The kid was there having dinner with the folks, might have been his birthday. He can play OK for a nine year old, got up and did a song with the house band.

I don't think anyone claimed he is a star, but his parents are very proud.

.....Mark.

so what he can play guitar well.but I can play everything else.how do these kids get so lucky????

Hi SuperKid: is that BB King's club in New York? If so, I had the pleasure of eating and drinking there with Forum user ZZDoc. It's a cool place - and if you ever go there and can play as well or better than the kid in the Youtube clip (I bet you can) then there is no reason why you can't get up on that little stage and play a number too.

For that matter, keep at it and you can be playing whole shows there if you want. It's all possible if you want it.

Cheers - C

Why would anyone say anything about a 9 yr ould kid that got a chance to get up and play on a stage and didn,t do half bad. Just because you don,t like the song is no reason. And Buxom Quiot Riot is not metal in any way.

Props to that kid for not getting onstage at BB Kings with a wii controller and ripping out a Rock Band III tune.

That doesn't really explain anything, but ok. I do actually. A lot of people consider Led Zeppelin metal, or The Beatles a decent band, but I don't.

Thanks for those clips SK. Four youngsters who actually bothered to learn an instrument instead of just mouthing off.
