Jack Reacher

For those of you who recognize the name, enough said. For those of you who don't, he's a character of an author named Lee Childs. I know a number of members that read his books and are fans.

The reason for this post is, they are making a movie from the book, "One Shot".

The star of the movie, the man who will portray the 6' 4" 250 pound solid muscled Jack Reacher will be Tom Cruise. Now isn't THAT special?

I just had to vent about that.

This is especially puzzling when they could have gotten Johnny Depp. Or Chuck Norris. Neither are working at the moment.

Or Mark Harmon, who did such a wonderful job recently in the role of Lucas Davenport... gag... Of course, Mark hired himself for the part in the made-for-TV movie.

Because of the talk of the movie, I re-read the book. In the final confrontation with the bad guys, he literally bear hugs a guy to death. I guess in the movie version Tom will be going up against poultry.

I was disappointed in Mark Harmon as Lucas Davenport, if it wasn't for Lola Glaudini I don't think I could have watched it. Really liked her as Elle Greenaway.
