I don't know, it looked an awful lot like a LAN jack.

lol it is a LAN jack. The amp can come with this optional foot pedal that allows you to switch in between your four presets. Mine had a volume/wah footpedal attached too.

Why did they use LAN instead of 1/4?

I would suggest saving and buying a tube amp, but if you want that spider go for it, it is a great little amp. Just my .02 worth :)

I could get a good SS, or I could go with a low end tube...

And Smokey, this one is a 2x12.

One option is a Superchamp XD,I'm running one through the PA at the church I play at, it's a hybrid amp, decent effects and tube driven. I have played through the spider too though, good little amp and can get loud. just not impressed with the clean channel which is mostly how I play.

I'm mostly dirty. A good number of built in effects are a must.

I always thought the "lan jack" (ethernet port) was for connecting it to a computer to load presets and things.
I wonder how long it'll be before you can get a usb footswitch.

Well today did turn out to be a NAD... Or a OAD... I went for the Line 6, but the trade in wasn't as good as I was expecting, so I was shown a lovely Peavey from the mid 80s. I didn't even notice it, as it was hidden out of plain view. Yes, it shows its age, but it sounds killer.
