Gabriela of Rodrigo Y Gabriela, and her playing has a lot to do with her hottness.

Annie Clemens for Bass Players. I like Big Legged Women

What's this all about? Did Guitar World put out another one of those 'porn star' price guides again?

Funny, I'd doubt that female members of this group would post a topic like this about male guitarists, the female musicians I've met have more respect about skills and playing than about looks and image. Maybe the female members of this group should have their own similar post, especially for gross-out value.

I don't think that would hurt anyone's feelings. I wouldn't have a contribution for it, but I wouldn't be offended. As a Rock and Roll fan, I've had to get used to guys like Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, and Steve Tyler doing thier best Iggy Pop impersonation. Have you seen Whitesnake or Van Halen latley, Beef Cake for the ladies all the way.

A little Cheese Cake never hut anyone.

OK. Who cares if a musician's popularity or significance is based on ability, as long as they can sell music by looking sexy instead? I'm sure that there are a few A & R people out there that prefer the cheesecake route. Maybe sexiness can cut down on all that useless practice time and hard work, as long as one doesn't mind being replaced by the next 'flavor of the month'.

P.S. Does anyone know if 'Teen Beat' is still in print?

Sexiness in music ought to be about mood, music, and message, not about who looks good on a poster holding a guitar. Ask any Barry White fan.

Checking out a Babe with a Guitar doesn't replace Music Apreciation. It's not a matter of Sexy or Talented, but rather a question of who's both.

In fact, the initial question in the thread "Does her skill in guitar playing enter into the equation?" suggests that Sexy alone is not enough to qualify, and infers that good playing could be a sexy quality in and of itself.

The conclusion that sexy is based on looks isn't one I jumped to.

OK, point taken. But the discussion seems to be restrictive in that it is being directed regards a musician's gender and no other criteria, which in itself seems to me to be sexist.
