One more spot while you head through Seligman stop at Delgados snow cat for a burger it is one of the last old r66 resturants. Have a great time.

I will definitely check out your recommendations, especially the latter, thanks.

One more thing, where's a good place to see Saguaro cactuses and possibly the Organ Pipe type?
Thanks!

Hi gillies, I live in Tucson but make it up north as much as I can. Beaver creek brewery is one of my favs ,crystal creek sandwich shop is another but not sure it is still open. If you have an opportunity head down to Sedona lots of good resturants there in all price ranges, if you are heading to the canyon area the El Tovar at the south rim is very nice and if you head over near Page stop at Cammeron and get a Navajo taco.
Also in Sedona is a great natural food store called frontier market it sells lots of prepared food and is great for a picnic in the redrocks. there are alot of chain eaterys out there and most are over priced and not very good. so keep an eye out for local owned places and most of all enjoy the beauty of the area and congratz on your aniversary .
Doc thanks for the heads up hope this helps.

Yes!! Sedona is a must!! Most beautiful place in Arizona in my opinion. That would have been my advice as well.

Thanks. I have looked at the map and it looks as though we will be able to stop at Sedona for a while and look at the red rock formations. You guys have been more helpful than any travel guide, you know so thanks and please keep the info coming.

Edit: Blimey! I have just checked out the Wikipedia entry for Sedona. Wow! I can't wait!

This is a good restaurant... But may be kind of crowded ??

If you visit Sedona, you may be surprised how much more beautiful it is than the Grand Canyon.... Also the oak creek canyon drive is pretty impressive...

If you hike, Bear Canyon is my favorite Sedona Hike...

I still don't know how that area didn't become a national park.... Too late now... too much private land mixed in with the national forest...

Is this a joke ? If it is, its actually pretty funny  , Maybe you need to define "giant"

largest saguaro cactus (not transplanted) was located north of cave creek arizona which is north of Phoenix arizona... nowhere near southern arizona...

So, I think its confirmed you were just joking...  good stuff...

Bring us up to speed. It's been 5 months since the last post. Are you there already or preparing to embark?
