Though it's not a new book it's a good one. If you haven't already read it, and you like autobiography's, here's a good one for you to read. "CLAPTON" another story by the man, about the man and his struggles throughout his life. Born illegitimate in 1945 and raised by his grandparents. It's a story of his life. pre teen to the present, and his encounters with "Sex Drugs & Rock and Role". There's a little hummer/ not enough. He said his first drunk was at the age of 16. He woke up in the yard with his trousers fouled and vomit on his shirt, with no money. LOL, A lot of sadness and music related things. Mostly about pepol that he met along the way and how the early death of some of them affected him, and his music. Plenty to make it interesting, but I wish there had been more. I think the entire read went much like you might imagine a personal conversation might have been. For a Guitar Player he's not a bad righter. Someone else said that "for a guitar player he did a lot better job of writing, than most writer's would have done Trying to play the guitar. LOL I'm glad I read it. I learned things that I would have never known otherwise. Check it out. 8) (Available at your public library).

I love this book. I bought it about a month ago and finished it the same day I got it. I'm generally not a fan of autobiographies but I thoroughly enjoyed this one. He does have a certain flair for writing, and is totally honest about himself, sometimes brutally so. It's really quite personal as well.
I think my favourite part is when he says, " if you need to know what gives me the drive to stay clean and sober, go and stand on the grave of my son"
I may not have quoted it right, but its words to that effect.

I got the book when it was first released in America. Between that and Clapton: The Ultimate Illustrated History. you get a complete look at him. Clapton: The Ultimate Illustrated History covers some things Eric left out of the autobiography. Like the time between Cream and Blind Faith and what happened on the road with them.

It's more a Life book than a Gear book, interesting nonetheless.

Check out Clapton: The Ultimate Illustrated History. It is more of a gear book. Tons of photos.
