Have any of you played Rocksmith? I got it as a Christmas present and plugged in my strat a couple days ago - and it's actually pretty cool! Guitar Hero for people who can actually play the guitar/want to learn the guitar. It has some good songs on it, and I do believe it can actually teach you how to play guitar/your favorite songs!

Anyone else have a chance to play it? What do you think?

Yes, I have it too. I think it's fun. The hardest thing it has taught me is not to look at the fretboard as I play. You have to keep your eye's on the screen. Like you would if you were sight reading. I wish the name of the notes was on screen as I played like the chords are, maybe an update or Rocksmith 2.

Been considering buying it for my daughter (and myself). Interested in seeing what others have to say too.

In a word - BUY! This is a fan-frickin-tastic game. Starting from the opening riff for the Stones' (I Can't get No) Satisfaction I think this is, by far, the easiest way to learn how to play new songs. The Technique Challenges teach, the Guitarcade mini-games allow you to practice what you have learned in a fun way and the song list is an excellent mix of classic rock, rock & hard rock. The best part is after you're done playing the game, you unplug from the game and plug onto your amp and keep rocking!

Very true! It's also good for people who already know how to play guitar though. I personally get frustrated with guitar hero and rock band. I can play the songs in the game in real life, but when I play with the little fake guitar I mess up all the time and lose to my friends who can't play guitar haha. This has great songs in it - for example. Sunshine of Your Love (Cream) is in the game, and knowing how to play it in real life, it's actually pretty accurate to how you would play it in real life! It really teaches you to play the songs. It also gets harder based on your ability and the notes you hit correctly, so you can play easier versions of songs working up to the complete version of the song.

I sold my copy about a week after buying it. I always noticed a very slight delay between picking a note and hearing it through the speakers. I tweaked every lag adjustment, hooked it up many different ways. Lag was there. It wasn't bad on the single note runs, but any constant, chugging rhythm and it causes you to choke your timing :P I suppose if you can't play at all, or are just learning though, it could really help teach you techniques and such :D

I have virtually no lag. It is not noticeable. I did however turn off hdmi audio out and run the audio out through the RCA connectors. I had lag with the hdmi audio. I'm on a PS3.

I haven't noticed any lag either... running the game on a PS3 with digital audio (optical) out to the home theatre.
