I'be been working on "Red House" from Jimi Hendrix. Does anyone know of any modern renditions of the song? Not that his isn't the best. But I saw Aerosmith a while back and Joe Perry did a smokin version.

After watching the Gary Moore version (+1) from start to finish just enter "Red House" in the search box.

I watched the Slash/Boz Skags version, then the supposed Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Janis Joplin version (Jimi played right handed?, Janis didn't really look like Janis)

How about Prince, little more modern, or Yungwie, Steve Vai trio.
Old school, Buddy Guy, Albert King.
Didn't see a SVR version.

Take your pick.

That's a great song, Chuck. If you can master it, you've really got something.

Love the version off the Jimi Hendrix Concerts CD.

If you get the chance, listen to Jimi's version of "Red House" off of "Valleys of Neptune" - it's absolutely incredible. You won't regret it.

Buddy Guy's.....on "Stone Free".....the Hendrix Tribute CD. Awwwwsummmm!!!
By the way....this is, like many other blues-based songs, is open to personal interpretation. You don't have to dime this note for note. Consider the Clapton-Winwood version of 'Voodoo Child' in comparison with the original...and Winwood was on that one too. Even Hendrix's own performances of 'Red House' varied.
