Just exquisite, gorgeous playing from Mark and indeed the whole band.

The feel and soul in some of those performances is just incredible.

Odd to see Knopfler playing a strat like object on this track. Even odder that I don't recognise it. Obviously some sort of superstrat (Schecter?) - Floyd Rose (but no trem arm attached, so whats the point), Locking Nut and Bridge Humbucker. Couldn't quite see, but by the looks of the pickup selector it's that humbucker he's got sounding (as you would expect of course) - but I'm surprised he's not using a Les Paul for the extra depth and thickness in the tone. And because it was the signature guitar for the Brothers In Arms album.

Watching this also reminds me why I love playing keyboards as much as I love playing the guitar..

Thanks for the post. I listened to several versions while I was there, and Mark didn't seem to use the same guitar twice. And never a strat. Surprised me. I thought he was strictly a strat man. But he is definitely a player.

He made his name on a Strat, but used a Les Paul on several tracks from the "Brothers in Arms" album. It's thick ripe tone is very obvious all over "Brothers.." And you can hear it clearly on "Money For Nothing" thru a half cocked wah..

Those guitars are Pensa Suhr...( Rudy Pensa- John Suhr ) Knopfler has been playing these for many years in addition to Fender Strats, Martin Acoustics, Gibson Les Paul...
