Thanks for the James Brown! With the Collins Brothers (Bootsy on bass and Catfish on guitar).

Here's another classic (The drum break about 9 minutes in launched a million songs in the 90's from Hip Hop to Pop to House):

You could easily put together a compilation of at least an hours worth of music based around that one drum break.

Rev J

Lots of good Funk here. I can’t tell you how much I used to hurt trying to do the James Brown split. Those old movie stars edits were done by, if not, the editor should have been, a pro. Not only was the cutting excellent, but gathering those clips for continuity was a challenge. Thanks, for posting. :D

In response:

I just wonder what happened to the other 48 FUnks.

I've said it here before that I believe that Hip Hop is just a branch on the FUnk family tree. I work as an in home caregiver. One of my clients is in the ICU right now. He is 61 now and told that he wouldn't live past high school. The opening lines of this especially get me right now "Living on borrowed time the clock ticks faster". Also the lyrics about Dick Dastardly and Muttley since his 2 tattoos are of Felix the Cat and Underdog:

But now here's what happens when Punk gets FUnky:

And when FUnk gets Punky:

He said that the bass line for Superfreak was inspired by watching punks dance.

Granted every time I hear that I can't help but think of this:
