It’s Your Thing -
Now that demands platform shoes. :P
One of the wildest mixes I’ve ever heard. Some Funky Country:

much easier fun times back then, the bump a great dance style, there was a huge club in Maywood Park back in the day near North Ave and 1st Ave across the street from Maywood racetrack called Bump City, Nothing like seeing 1000 kids doin the bump, yeah.

Earlier I posted;

 I meant to say wildest. I guess, speaking of mixes, widest sort of works too, but I corrected it.
The first For The Love Of Money. Ouch! Fortunately, my EarPods volume was on the low end because the video volume is outa the park, and I still had to pick my eardrums off the floor. Even for a drummer that was really loud. Enough that some headphones and the hearing might not fare well . No worries - just a CAUTION. Safety first.
I’m also seeing more Watch this video on YouTube. Playback on other websites has been disabled by the owner as happened with the second O’Jay video.

Me thinks there is something in the wind. I think I know where some of those two come from, and that means we’ll see and maybe hear more of the missed videos and loud (and perhaps distorted) playbacks.

Hopefully, I’m wrong. I usually am. :P Except when I’m right.

Great posts, Rollie. The Four Tops are my favorite. So many great songs. Of course, The Temptations are fantastic too. :D

All good stuff you guys.

Did ya have to remind me that I had an Afro back then? How’d I end up with one? Well . . .

I always did the hair thing starting with a crew cut, ducktail, college cut, military short hair, and then I married a then hairdresser.
No longer in the military, with medium long hair, I was talked into trying an Afro. I liked R&B and all those funky sounds. Tower of Power filled my reel to reel deck and Four Tops and Temptations joined the others on Lp and cassette, and I’d been to Chicago and Detroit, so I gave in for it (until I converted to the Mac Davis perm).

So, thanks for reminding this white dude about his Brillo pad and gettin’ down.

Hmm! Maybe, I should try it again with my white locks.
Oops! I meant to say white socks.

. . . reminds me of back in the seventies seeing Tower Of Power 3 or 4 times in Vancouver (where I grew up and lived most my life) at The Cave in Gastown and Oil Can Harry's at 752 Thurlow Street. I think they were the tightest band I ever did see, unbelievable.

I remember those hot clubs in ‘Van. I would have liked to have been there to see TOP. Glad you got the chance, yellowsnakes!
I know these two played the Cave, and now they’re playing here: :P
