I could use some information straight from the horse's mouth so to say. I currently have a Fender Deluxe Reverb '65 Reissue. I am pondering purchasing a Fender Limited Edition '65 Deluxe Reverb. As far as I can see the main difference in the two amps is in the speakers (C-12K for FDR) and (P-12Q for the FDR Limited Edition). I play mostly country, gospel and some bluegrass. I use Tele's, all American made (Natural Ash, American Deluxe and a custom shop Merle Haggard). I love the sounds I get through the FDR '65 Reissue. My concern is, how much difference will there be in the sound I would get with the Limited? I have talked with reps as Sweetwater and Musician's Friend and all they can tell me is what they read as none have had any "hands on" with the Limited. 'Tis a lot of money to purchase and find out that it may not sound as good for my type of music as the FDR '65 Reissue.
My local dealership handles a lot of Fender equipment, but I would not ask them to bring in something this expensive just to see if it fits my needs. Therefore, I go to the professionals and ask "In your opinion would this amp fit my genre of music or would I be better off getting another Fender Deluxe Reverb '65 Reissue as a backup amp? Please enlighten me.

Thank you in advance for your response.

The only difference is the speaker. Then why buy another amp? As a backup maybe. If you are happy with the amp, keep it and play it...don't go chasing the perfect tone...I think that is a fallacy. If you are really wanting to know the difference between the amps, take yours in a A/B them...if you like the tone of the Limited Edition, then go buy the speaker and replace the one in your current amp. This one seems like an easy choice to me, but you are the one that has to pull the trigger on the purchase.

FWIW

You could buy an amp for cheap in a lucky bid on eBay and then put those speakers in it.

Just change the speaker in the one you have
