Managed to hit a rough patch on the road last night while jogging, rolled my ankle over and heard/felt a very loud "Crack", followed by a good amount of pain and an ankle that didn't appear to work very well anymore and swelling quickly.

So much for staying healthy.

Spent a few hours at the hospital getting x-rays etc, to be told I had a broken Fibula, now my leg is in plaster!

The most fun part was getting 1 KM back home as I was down by the river near my home when it happened, didn't have a phone with me and no-one around, that was a joyous little journey back to the house!

Amazing how one second things are fine and a second later they aren't. Hopefully this will come good before too long.

Yeah you're right, looking on the bright side, I had a heap of stuff to do in the garden and around the house, so now I'll have to just sit around, play guitar and get over it.

Snowy, a guitar player/carpenter I've just met broke his ankle a few days ago and went back to Cali to stay with family while his ankle heals. My drummer/great nephew is babysitting his house and cats for him until he gets back to Chi. For a minute I thought it was you, lol. Mojo from Chicago to you, feel better soon Bro.

Ouch! That's why I stay safely on my couch, working out is dangerous . Best of luck with the recovery. My wife recently fell off a ladder and broke and dislocated her ankle and crawled into the house to get the phone to call 911. I cracked mine back in the day playing basketball and it healed rather quickly so best of luck with the recovery. Write a song about it...The Busted Ankle Blues!

I've taught snowboarding for years and seen many a horror injury, and suffered more than my fair share. I've seen a friend with 3 cracked vertebrae and broken ribs down his entire right side back on a board in 6 weeks.

However knees, legs and ankles are serious business, they don't heal fast and are a pain in the $@! for months and months. Trust the doctors, don't rush it and DO YOUR PHYSIO AFTER or suffer the long term consequences

Now take advantage of the time to sit around and spend some quality time with the axe

However I see that you're from Oz (unless by down under you mean all the way in NZ), which makes you very similar to people from my homeland of England, and I know as well as you that the doctors are always wrong and we will be back running at least 3 weeks before the doctors say, we never have anything wong with us

I think he's faking to get away from chores and stay home with guitar.

awhile back i tore my acl in my right knee. needless to say, i'm not half as tough as i thought i was. not even close. hope your rehab goes well.
