I have a 1997 california series stratocaster i bought used.I put on new strings the other day and while i was cleaning it i took the pickguard off just to look to see if it was stock. The pickups said fender custom shop on them . I have got some information on these guitars and they came with tex-mex pickups.Do the tex-mex pickups say custom shop on them or are these some other pickups?

Texas Specials will have staggered-and-beveled magnets and the middle pickup should have yellow and black lead-in wires indicating that it's RW/RP. Fender lists the appropriate DCR specifications on their accessory product webpage. Measure your pickups with a DVM and compare to the posted data to confirm your identification.
