Is it possible to put 2 humbuckers on a Strat style guitar. I was thinking of trying to get one custom with one Dimarzio super distortion in the Bridge and a Dimarzio PAF in the neck. I was also thinking like HSS arrangement with super distortion in the bridge and stock in the middle and neck. I just want to know if it is possible. Thanks :D

Yes, just get a Blacktop Strat body and use it as a mod platform. It shouldn't be more than $150, depending on the color. but imo, anything more than $150 for a body like that is overpaying. Just shop around eBay and you'll eventually find what you like.

(my reason for the $150 is the swimming pool rout)

@buxom Thanks for the answer but one question I forgot to ask in the original post is how to modify my guitar for that. I would like to do that with my starcaster I have right now or a strat i get in the future

I wouldn't waste the money on a Starcaster. Just get a Blacktop or an H/S/H routed body and go from there. I'm no wiring expert, but just get your body and try different configs.

You can put as many as 3 humbuckers in a Strat if you wish. You can choose two routes. One route is to get a new pickguard/scratchplate with cutouts for traditional double-wide buckers. The other route is to get the Strat style buckers which fit in the original openings without modification. The bodies of modern Strats are usually routed HSH under the scratchplate so the middle pup will pretty much have to be a single coil sized bucker. Some older Strats from the late 80's to the mid 90's had "swimming pool" routed bodies. With those you'd be able to do pretty much anything you can dream up. I've seen pix of custom made scratchplates on swiming pool guitars with 4 pickups mounted on them. Search the pup maker's web sites. You'll be able to find pretty much anything you want.

If you need a custom made scratchplate you can order those here:

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
