I was hoping this was about the movie that came out last year.

Buxom, the movie you wrote of is about the subject referred to in this thread and because I like the work of actress Amy Adams, it will probably be a good flick, if you're into romance/comedy style movies (might not be a bad choice to watch with a special girl, wink wink).

Never realised till this moment that the year I proposed to my wife was a leap year. Huh - if I'd notice I could have left the hard work to her!

:D

Ceri, were you married in that year? Technically one would only celebrate anniversaries every four years then, or would you?

Oh, is that right? Then this year will be my second anniversary! I'll tell the Missus. I suspect to her it feels a lot longer...

Ceri, here is what I found for a "2nd Wedding Anniversary"
Traditional Gifts: Cotton
Modern Gifts: China

1. Clothing
When purchasing clothing for your spouse, check their closet first for correct sizes and preferred colors.
1. Tableware
A table with beautiful china dishes makes any meal romantic.
2nd Anniversary Traditional Gift :
Cotton. As a material, cotton is both durable and versatile. These are both important qualities in a successful marriage. Cotton has also been known as a symbol of great prosperity.
2nd Anniversary Contemporary/Modern Gift:
China. Many people describe love as being elegant and beautiful. In the same way many people view love, china is seen as elegant and beautiful, too.

2nd Anniversary Gemstone:
Garnet.
2nd Anniversary Color:
Red.
2nd Anniversary Flower:
Cosmos.

Ah yes: when we did our second wedding anniversary for real six years ago (forgetting about leap years) I clearly remember I played it safe and did cotton and china. There's nuttin' like covering your backside. :D

This year will be our second leap year anniversary but our eighth regular one. Can't remember what sort gifts you're meant to give to mark eight years...?

Cheers - C

Ceri, 8th Wedding Anniversary:
Traditional Gifts: Bronze or Pottery
Modern Gifts: Linens or Lace

8th Anniversary Traditional Gift:
Bronze or Pottery. Bronze is created by combining copper and tin and a strong marriage is created by the joining of two individuals who not only love one another, but who also place a high priority on their time together.

Pottery begins with just a lump of clay that is slowly formed into something beautiful. Through their eight years together, a couple shapes their marriage into a beautiful relationship.

8th Anniversary Contemporary/Modern Gift:
Linens or Lace. The modern gift of linens or lace can be a practical gift or a luxurious one.

8th Anniversary Gemstone:
Tourmaline or tanzanite.

8th Anniversary Color:
Tourmaline, tanzanite, or bronze.

8th Anniversary Flower:
Clematis, a beautiful climber that traditionally means clever, intellectual.

Ha; OK. Well, pottery we kinda covered in year two with the china theme. But my wife loves linen, so we may be onto something with that one. Excellent - thank you! :D

 Oh my goodness! Never, never tell my wife that there is any sort of gemstone associated with an anniversary. She already thinks we ought to bring our diamond anniversary well forward in the cycle, just so we (she) can be sure not to miss out on it...
