Thinking about what I need to be doing music wise in the coming new year.

A few more live shows with my blues duo, some recording work and to start a new multimedia project (I don't know what yet - something for the theatre). First things first - some composition work for a local pub based pantomime group's upcoming show "Robin Hoodie"..

What plans do you guys have for 2012?

Someone was asking for a new guitar build thread. Must do something about that - though I'm not going to compete with Xhefri and 53magnatone. We'll give them space to work through their threads first.

Apart from that I have nothing so grown up as your projects in the offing, adey. But I do have John Wheatcroft's book Improvising Blues Guitar that I have been meaning to apply myself to for a long while. Plenty of good stuff in there for players at all levels: this old dog needs to learn some new tricks.

New Year's resolutions...

Cheers - C

LOL.. thanks Ceri.

Hope my plans turn out to be as grand as they sound on paper! Reaching beyond minority interest is so difficult, as is achieiving reward to justify effort. No doubt I will still be working for the same employer this time next year (unless Cameron & Co are finally successful in derailing a carefully built 34 year Public Sector career  )

I'm sure your own endeavours will give you just as much satisfaction. Your builds are (rightly) legendary here - both for their results and for the information you so generously impart and share.

Let us know what the rest of you guys will be upto..

I'll admit it, I'm a bore for I have nothing new planned. :(

I will be trying to create a better balance between work and what passes for my personal life. Between extended business travel, entertaining in the evening, and carrying a laptop with me everywhere, I always seem to be focused on the job. When I get a chance to pick up a guitar, I have to blow the dust off of it first.

Quite a lot now that I think of it.
I'd like to start playing out, get a job, not fail all my GCSEs, become six foot tall, get back down to a 30" waist or at least not go higher than 32", get my driving license, finish my grade 8 bass and then maybe self-teach grade 8 guitar, build some effects pedals, socialise more, read lots and eat a lot of Indian food.

Should be a good year, you know as long as the world doesn't end or anything.
