Hardcore cyclist I guess is how you would describe me. Only the nasiest storms stop me and I commute 22km by bike to and from work. As long as you dress for the weather, you are fine. I live in Halifax Nova Scotia and the weather here can be adventurous.

You are the man! It must get below zero in the winter where you are.
It's the logistics of it that keeps me from going out when it is cold. 45F is my lowest I'll go out.
Wearing so many regular clothes layers makes it really uncomfortable to ride my drop handlebar bike. I sweat like crazy from all the layers, and then I am drenched. Which isn't good thing in the cold if I break down and need to stop for any length of time.
How do you change a flat in 0 degree weather without getting frost bitten?
Doesn't the road salt tear up the finish and components on the bike?
I guess it can be done but I don't have the know-how. Sounds like fun though.

During the winter season, I use a crummy bike that I don't mind dumping after one or two winters. The key to these is cheap but functional.

As for changing a flat in that weather, I've never had to do it, but there are good odds I'd throw the bike in a cab and get my butt to work. Then I would sort it out where it's warmer.
