I have a guitar that picked up an odor from being in the case too long. I aired it out for awhile but it still has a slight odor. Is Lemon Pledge ok to use on guitars ? I would think it would be, being that its made for furniture but I just wanted to make sure before using it cause I don`t want to damage the finish. I tried using regular guitar polish but it didn`t help.

Spray the polish into a cloth, not directly onto your guitar. After this second cleaning I would leave the guitar out on a stand for the day and turn my attention to the case. What caused it to get funky?

I had the guitar in a storage room way too long and it picked up a mildew odor. I`m going to try what you suggested. I had it on a stand for over a week but it still has a slight smell to it so it is going away. I just wanted to speed the process up so I can play it without getting the odor on my hands or clothes.

"Sparkle" is good for guitars, as it's silicon free, and doesn't therefore build up a residue over time. Ok on finished maple fretboards too.

Lemon oil on rosewood fretboards.

Put a few silicon gel packets in your guitar case to soak up excess moisture. Then put one or two of those hanging car fresheners in the case for a while.
