as a background- my mom's youngest brother moved out of state about 5 years ago. due to many circumstances, he has not been able to get back this way since then.

yesterday we had christmas at my parent's, and went back today to finish off the leftovers. during lunch, she mentioned that the one christmas gift she would love was to see her brother again. the family is getting older, and who knows how much time everybody has left.

about 10 minutes later, there is a knock at the door. i hear a yell coming from the other room, and turn around to see her brother entering the house. he said he came back to surprise everybody, and planned to see all his siblings during the day. we had about a 2 hour visit with him, and it was nowhere enough time with him. he talked with my dad about hunting and fishing trips they took 50 years ago. it was a blast.

i don't know if it was an answered prayer or a miracle, but this made our christmas- especially my mom's- complete
