I got the new Fender FT-004 clip-on tuner as a stocking stuffer. It seems to work very well for a budget tuner, and it easily fits into an instrument case. It will definitely come in handy in the new year!

A white Fender Koil Kord and a book entitled "How to Hot Rod Your Fender Amp". :)

I've got to get me one of those Koil Cords - take me back to my youth! The last one I remember having was way back in 1966...

Those old curly cords were good for a high capacitance load. Figure about .03 per cord. They were like adding another tone cap to the circuit!

Some experts are of the opinion that curly cords were actually part of the secret to Jimi Hendrix's tone. It is so hard to emulate him today is because the cords have changed. It was the cord all along! I used them back then in the 60's and early 70's. They went bad about every 4th gig. I think they were made by Turner, the same people also made crappy microphones in the day. One drop and they were done. The curl cords cost $7.95 back then, which was like $25 now. I think Turner had them made in Japan. I bought about 100 of them one or two at a time over a four year period. There really were no other retail cords around where I was playing back then. The cords came in Red, Gray, Black and White. Did not matter what color you got, they would develop loose connections in no time. Total garbage.

I've known brother Dave for a long time, but never actually met him. I say this because, I'm convinced he has a HUGE head. He always has answers to virtually every question, and he has a complete knowledge of unusual stuff, like coil cords.

I think I may start a poll somewhere to see what everybody else thinks.

I only have one, thank God! Oh my gosh did I just say that? I hope she didn't hear me.

She's great, we've had our share of life experiences and she has hung in there with me through it all. I'm lucky to have her.
