Another Fender bass. This one is a Sunburst Fender Standard P-Bass! I bought it for myself because I deserved it! What did you get?

Nothing Fender related for me, but I got the leather jacket I've been eyeing for months :D

The Fender gear was noticeably lacking this year, but I did find some guitar oriented stuff... like another Ultimate high tripod guitar stand (I really like those), a coffee table book on all kinds of vintage guitars (you know... never gonna have one of those, never even seen one of those...), a subscription to Guitar Player magazine...

Oh, and one other thing, way back in the corner, the very last present to come out from under the tree... one of these!

I've already played it for an hour. Great setup right out of the box, just a little tuning and a check to make sure there was a battery for those hot active pickups and away I went. Definitely one beautiful electric guitar.

Thank you, Santa!

I've got to get me one of those Koil Cords - take me back to my youth! The last one I remember having was way back in 1966...

I scored this book, plenty of Fender goodness within the pages.

Santa brought me a $99 partsocaster. It's a hodgepodge of non-Fender parts, but it's got a late '80s American Standard pickup in the neck position.

I got some Fender medium picks and a brand new Schecter Vintage Solo guitar as a combination Christmas and graduation present to self (accelereated bachelors program and I am burnt toast... but I can still hold a pick despite all of the typing).

Image

A mucho slick guitar if you have an appreciation for Filtertron pick ups and/or Flame-ON!Rockabilly on testosterone-like chemicals. :-)

Don't worry, there's still room in my heart for the Tele. It still always delivers on anything that doesn't absolutely require a whang bar. I hope my possession of a non-Leo based product doesn't get me excommunicated.

Peace to all.

MJ
