If your HWY1 wouldn't "take spec" (and I'm not sure I know what that means), it was probably/possibly a different issue than just the weight of the guitar...

With production line guitars, there's a world of difference between individual axes in weight, feel and tone.

Everybody I know will develop a bad back *and* a bad knee from a heavy guitar, this is not a subjective issue -- it's a work-place hazard for the musician!

And noooo, it wasn't "possibly" another issue, it was the im-balance and heavy weight of the guitar that threw off the whole setup. The second one that came out took the spec setup like a champ! Fender released a reject and called it a Hwy 1.

With production guitars...Squier as an example; most sound awful stock, some sound really bad stock, some are utter rejects, a scant few out of 100 will be worth playing, maybe 1's got some true mo-jo. And what's sad is, the amount of money it takes to turn one these guitars into mojo machines at the factory is insignificant. But, if Fender produced gems cheap, like Leo did, nobody would buy the ...really high priced stuff.

...do you sell Fenders?

No, I put up with people who are inarticulate about their requests and repair the equipment that nurses and doctors break.

I didn't disparage your experience, nor did I say you were wrong. I just said some of the "issue" could be a matter of perspective.
You still haven't revealed what "take spec" means. I assume you mean it didn't work well when you had it set up to your liking.
Be cool, peace out, have a nice day.

OK, this is too much. A Fender guitar that weighs so much more than identical models that it is a health hazard! Someone is dissing us, or else they're on something. I have a Douglas guitar with a knot on the back of the neck. No big deal, but I notice it every time I pick it up. What do you expect from a off brand, sub $200 guitar. Every Fender I have, no matter were made, has some kind of imperfection I'm aware of. Now if I had a Custom Shop I paid thousands for, I would expect perfect QC and only the best of woods. That's why you pay the price.
