I have to admit that I missed the first 12 pages and didn't bother reading them, but I found this picture on 9GAG and thought it would fit perfectly here. :D

Having 'the right chemistry' means just that....except that it feels good.

since this thread's 'bout 'love' , if there is such a thing, I'd like to ask a question, if that's okay,
so this guy and I broke up about 10 months ago, and started dating about this time last year, we were together two months, and I'm the one who broke it off. (mistake1) we've kinda came to be really close friends. anything that means anything, I go to him about it first. he get's me better than I get myself. it's wierd, like when I know all the rest of my chick friends and like my family think I can't do something, he still does. (mistake2, kinda) this summer, we got really close, and he told me he still had feelings for me, but I didn't feel the same, more like I wouldn't admit it, but we made a truce to not talk about relationships and crushes to each other, so it wouldn't bring up issues, well, I slipped, and started talking about this guy to him, and he got really hurt and was stand offish for a few days.(mistake3) we made up and everything, but still. then we didn't talk for a while, then on New Year's, I saw one of his posts of Facebook, and decided to wish him happy new years(mistake4), we got to talking, and he said he was bring this chick home, they had just broke up. it felt like a stab through the heart when he said this, I'm not sure why though, then, he told me about him getting a new years kiss, and I started crying. i know for a fact I was his first, and he was my first kiss.
what does all this sudden pain about him mean??
you don't have to answer, I just needed a place to vent...

Tessa

On this thread you can ask just about anything you want. Lord knows there have been all sorts of ideas and things discussed. If you're looking for a concrete explanation of what love is, you won't find it here or virtually anywhere else. everybody has their own idea.

Tessa, you got a whole lot of life ahead of you, you're gonna love a lot of people on the way. The older you get you'll realize love is different for each one of those that come across your path.

Tessa:

There's a process in growing emotionally. Some never do regardless of age. Sadly, murder has been done as a consequence of such immaturity. There's ego, insecurity, jealousy, anger, and rage...a range and host of emotions which come into play. Dumb and dumbers are those who will sacrifice themselves and others on the altar of same. It takes keen insight to know when a relationship is not working and its time to move on, and also great strength and confidence in one's concept of one's self so as not to throw one's life away over sheer stupidity. Such a waste. Never, ever, share your current personal life with someone you've had a close, intimate relationship with in the past. There's always something left and, depending upon circumstances, it might take decades to burn out...and sometimes, never. Burnt bridges are best. Satisfy yourself with the pleasant memories of what was good, if any, or the knowledge that you left a bad situation behind. You'll need years, and a range of experiences, both your own and those of others, to fully appreciate what I have written herein.

Doc

perhaps a do over is in order, for those of us older folk not necessary of course but for the younger generation lucky enough to have an interest in someone, a re-evaluation can help sometimes. Thinking of love as a virtue helps in the same way that being a good friend first to someone you may feel "in love" with helps when sexual attraction/activity becomes moot. A man may still be mindful of those lovely memories of his woman and vice versa but ultimately it is the love of one another as friends, life's partners that spans into eternity. Might be too much to absorb for a youngster, on second thought, but I have confidence in the younger members after all they chose to join so they are doing something right.

"Love is an emotion of strong affection and personal attachment. Love is also a virtue representing all of human kindness, compassion, and affection; and "the unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another""from wiki
