here is your original reply:
"This is not an explanation or description of love.
This is a description of "infatuation."
BIG difference."

you need to explain the difference. i don't think you can... it leads you to the same argument. by your definition i love the whole world but i am not "in love with" the whole world.

take another look here and see how the rest of the world describe it.
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index ... 057AAQHQ9e
these are what people say "being in love is..." long term "love" is what we all have anyway! this is nothing more than "care and concern." this "being in love with" is more than that.

i have had a lifetime affection for a particular celebrity. i have thought about prayed for fantasied about being with i have never been able to get her out of my mind and everything she does i'm interested in. to me she is my miss world... infatuation? in all that time i would have said i was not in love with her till this year when the exact same feelings swept across me that i have experienced with every girl i felt i was in love with. infatuated with them? some i did not even like but it's the exact same feeling. now recognise the idea of cupid who strikes an unwitting person with an arrow... it is not always someone you care in the beginning.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTF3ggSaUGI

if there was a "love drug" what would it do to you? i'll give you a clue on top of "caring" you'd be having the same feelings posted as above. for me i'm almost woozy to the point of feeling weak faint and breathless... listen to this song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBk5vMti6r8

"When I'm with you
I shake inside
My heart's all tangled up
My tongue is tied it's crazy

Can't walk, can't talk, can't eat, can't sleep
Oh, I'm in love, oh I'm in deep ''cause baby

With a kiss you can strip me defenseless
With a touch I completely lose control
'Til all that's left of my strength is a memory, wo...

I get weak when I look at you
Weak when we touch
I can't speak when I look in your eyes
I get weak when you're next to me
Weak from this love
I can't speak when I look in your eyes
I get weak

Convincing eyes, persuasive lips
The helpless heart just can't resist their power
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsfreak.com/b/belinda+ca ... 16288.html ]
You know you've got a hold over me
You know you've got me where I want to be ''cause lover

Like a wave you keep pulling me under
How I'll ever get out of this I don't know
I just know there's just no way to fight it, wo...

I get weak when I look at you
Weak when we touch
I can't speak when I look in your eyes
I get weak when you're next to me
Weak from this love
I'm in deep when I look in your eyes
I get weak I get weak I get weak

Just a kiss you can strip me defenseless
Just a touch I completely lose control
'Til all that's left of my strength is a memory, wo...

I get weak when I look at you
Weak when we touch
I can't speak when I look in your eyes
I get weak when you're next to me
Weak from this love
I'm in deep when I look in your eyes
I get weak I get weak I get weak."

ask your gf what the above lyrics describe... this is love.

I knew you had nothing to do with Prolife's inanity or inaccuracy about the divine Miss Bullock. Sorry about my unclear post.

Is that the celebrity prolife is talking about? This iPad won't play his Youtube clips for some reason so maybe I'm missing something.

Cheers - C

Hey, where's the love? This thread isn't about fighting, it's about the way I feel about a lovely lady, and about the way we all feel about that special person. I've also thought of something a bit clever. Since I stutter when I get nervous, I was thinking of writing a long letter and sticking it in a place she wouldn't expect, but would definitely find it. (in one of her game cases, close it inside her laptop, her guitar case, in the disk tray of her PS2, etc) I'm decent at sneaking in and out of places, so I could probably do it. The matter is more where.

Slip it into the middle of her toilet paper roll. That'll surprise her!

it was said that being in love is a "long term thing" but the dictionary does not mention a time frame... so where does that come from? it seems to put love as a "strong affection for" with no physical response is not right but that's what you expect me to believe? my thesaurus has "infatuation" under "in love." but you say all love songs are infatuation songs? all love stories are infatuation stories? love at first sight is infatuation at first sight? how many billion people's experience against the guy who wrote a dictionary, an academic who probably never "fell in love." and reguards being in love as a silly crush.
armadilldo loves his wife but is not in love with her? some would say "the magic has gone". it just makes me wonder what the hell you actually feel when you are in love then? so what do you feel?
my original post does say that some people call the "being in love" infatuation. how is it possible to be infatuated and not in love? bizarre. it does not make sense but i know you can love someone and not be in love.
the love you express is a "biblical love" mostly a sense of duty, caring concern this is not what the world calls love. the op asked "How do you know when you feel it?" armadildo says you don't feel anything? his love "moved on." if you are in love you can tell someone without being forced into it. to my mind if you had to ask you are not in love!

Regretably, it all boils down to what centers of the brain the appropriate neurotransmitters are juicing. If it makes us feel good, we do it, consciously or not. The skill, in all of that, is the recognition thereof, and the mastery of same to prevent
'dumb and dumber' becoming the order of the day because, in the end, the love you take is not always equal to the love you make.

-The fact you're relying on a dictionary for a definition of love shows you are sorely lacking in emotional maturity.
-The fact that you misrepresented and misquoted my posts about the relationship I have with my wife (and about love in general) shows either (1) poor reading comprehension or (2) a rabble rouser who likes to "stir the pot"/create trouble or (3) a combination of the two.
-The fact that no one has said that being "in love/infatuated" isn't at least a (partial) characteristic of true love, and most of us have agreed that infatuation is often the flashpoint or start of a truly loving relationship, yet you keep insisting that infatuation and being "in love" is the only indicator of true romantic lifelong love shows emotional immaturity, a lack of reading comprehension and the desire to be a rabble rouser.
-The fact that you made a vulgar pun and reference to a sex toy when you misquoted my user name shows (1) you're vulgar, (2) makes me question the religious symbol in your signature line and (3) confirms that my judgment was correct--you are a flaming doofus.

I tried to use short sentences and small words so you could understand this post, but I doubt it will help.

Don't bother to respond, I won't see it. You've been foe'd.
