It's a sign of the times still, people selling in need of money. Shops are even offering less on trade in's and buys because they are seeing more of them.

I notice the most on Gibson though... custom shop Fenders are in bad shape too on used market. I wish I had a little extra coin to drop on a vintage Gibson.

I would like to sell my Jazzmaster.... but I won't make any money on that sale.

You can get a nice 1959 Les Paul Junior double cut for under 5000 pretty easy these days. Killer guitars (most of them)

Might be you are just noticing them Gibson's more, theirs not a day that there is not over 5000 Fenders for sale on ebay. One of the local shops I do side work for won't even buy most used Fenders that walk in the door unless ridiculously low, they want Custom Shop or Classic's Fenders from back in the days. They will buy the Gibson most times.

Yes...But if the glass is now half empty versus half full, does that mean that Vintage instruments were overvalued... :?:

Stradivarius and Guarneri Violins ( Fiddles for those southern and Celtic Folks ) are often selling
well upwards of $500,000....But that is an instrument that is over 250 years....
Compared to a 40 to 50 year old Les Paul selling at around $25,000 to $50,000, that would mean that a ( future ) 250 year old LP would only be worth $250,000 - $125,000.

Still sounds like a bargain even at the higher auction prices....

I'll have to go with a single-cut jr for under $10k. I hate the double-cut shape.
