James-

If you're referring to my recent jabs at LugNuts, I understand your inclination to take offense and try to change the tone.

However, on multiple occasions Mr. Ludwig has attacked, cursed, lambasted and flamed on other Forum members, including myself, Ceri and many others (including some whom you said you respect). Most recently he started an incredulating discussion that claimed all famous musicians were frauds, without evidence or examples. He then retreated and (cowardly) deleted his posts on the subject. Had he backed up his claims with specific incidents or retracted his post with a "just blowing off steam, irritated about XYZ", we probably would have had a little confused chuckle and moved on.

However, he has not make any sort of amends about starting threads such as these (multiple times now, including one verbally attacking the disabled...he then tried to excuse such an attack by claiming he needed a better parking place due to his bipolar disorder. Hmm, as difficult as living and dealing with those issues may be, I never knew bipolar folks had difficulty walking. I mean, really, what in Hades was that all about?).

Mr. Ludwig has consistently contributed to the nasty tone of the Forum you lamented here.

FenderGuy/Miss Stevie/Whatever obviously did more than irritate others, and his presence here has been completely denied and/or restricted, at least for now...not by us, but by Hizzonor Mr. Traweek himself. After initially reaching out to the Doofus Down Under, I eventually ignored and Foe'd him, in order to prevent being sucked in to his inanity. However, DDU was a mere irritation compared to the grandiose vitriol spewed by Mr. LugNuts

You may not be aware of why some of us have chosen to deal with Jake rather than coddle him...and to be honest, we've been much more polite to him than he has to us (as individuals and as a Forum).

...and if you're going to call anybody out, you might examine who has been critical of Mr. Nut's propensity  for mayhem...none other than the Pasha of Peckham himself, whom you mentioned as a good example, has tired of Ludwig's antics. Ceri himself described him as, "a foul mouthed little shrike" and an "obnoxious kid in urgent need of firmer parental guidance..."

To paraphrase Lyndon Baines Johnson (regarding Walter Cronkite and the Vietnam war) "If you've lost the support of Ceri, you've lost the support of the Forum."

I have always enjoyed your posts, Smokey; you're a smart guy and I think your heart is in the right place. But the little digs we've taken at Jake are nothing compared to the gaping stab wounds he has gouged into the landscape of the Forum.

I mean this with all respect, and I am not trying to start a fight, but I think you're wrong on this one.

Don't worry Screamin' Armadillo I don't take offense too easily...

I just can't see why we can't just ignore these people... I use to do that when he was up to his antics as "JaketheLudwig".

I guess there has been a lot of "fire-starting" on the forums, haha... maybe thats why I been not really partaking a whole lot these past couple of months.

Its funny to that you mention Lyndon Brown Johnson and Walter Cronkite... I just wrapped up a study on the sixties and the turbulent culture of that decade... 8)

Hi James: you very politely said you weren't calling anyone out on this. Thank you for that, but I know full well that I am most certainly a culprit as far as this particular subject goes.

So I'd offer this: you will very seldom see a harsh word written by me to or about another Forum user. All I'd suggest is that the rare times you do (about three occasions in 10,000 posts, I believe) you consider the possibility that there might be a reason, even if not visible on the particular thread in question.

I was going to say more, but after reading the fabulous Mr Armadillo's post above I can't see what there is to add. It's all there.

So the only further observation I have to make is:

Friendly cheers to all - C

Actually, I have one more thing to add:

GTG, that is the first silly thing I've heard you say.

I've read most or all of your posts: I find you amongst the nicest and most civilised people round here. The day I think you need forgiving for something is the day you are welcome to dot my eye.

OK? :D

Cheers - C

I don't think that's a real word, but it certainly fit the circumstances!

Say you ignore them.... What does it take to reach the point when it becomes intolerable.... :?:

This is not My Forum or Lugnuts's or IMSRV or for that matter Ceri's or ZZdoc or AndyBigHair or ----.
It is Our Forum, everyone's Forum, but then it is also each and everyone's responsibility to speak up and say " No....Enough is Enough " We do not want this type of insanity here.

It's sad to say but more often than not, people are inclined to stay silent when there is a disrupting and offensive factor in a public setting.....Like the person Ten feet away in a bookstore carrying on a personal and private cell conversation. Unfortunately it is loud enough for all to hear....
To me that means " Excuse me but could you take it elsewhere more private.... :?: :?: "

I would much rather debate points of view or ask questions about equipment I have no experience with, rather than having to par keyboard attacks .
But as there are adults here, there are also young members and if the elders are acting like a Sequel to Lord Of The Flies " ( the kids also ) and everyone sits idly by, then it will be only a matter of time before the moderators shut the Forum Down for good.......

That is Food For Thought.......
