Here's my two cents worth: I been on the forum for what? two years now? And even though I don't post nearly as much as some of the other members on the forum, I actively check in all the time.

Lately I been extremely disappointed in the way some of the members carry themselves on the forum, even some of the veterans! For example, The in the past couple of topics that the Ludnuts has posted, he's been constantly hazed because of some older topic he had where he called music being faked.

Ya'll may not like it, but he's entitled to his own opinions... Do you think I would be hanging around if I got riled every time one of you post something I don't agree with? No! I would be gone the first week I joined...

I feel like some of you just are itching for some action... after all, why do you think guys like Strat-o-Tele keep coming around on the forum? Just so he can get some nasty reactions from ya'll. He loves it, and I believe ya'll crave the chances to rip into the kid. (in a weird way its sadistic...)

I'm not calling out everyone here... there's still some members who I have the upmost respect for... guys like SBLS, Niki, Ceri, Snowy, guitslinger, Miami Mike, Civilleira, BMW-KTM: I'm glad ya'll still bring something good to the forum.

My two cents worth. Feel free to disagree; you're entitled to it.

-James

I agree that there have been some rather nasty business here on the forum. I cannot recall anything I have done, but may have contributed. I try to leave the threads alone that are more trollish. I for one will strive to be a better member of this community in the future.

I was going to say something, but was afraid of coming off as having a "holier than thou" kind of attitude.
Forgive and forget, yadayadaya, lets get drunk. 8)

I have found this forum to not be so friendly either.

This should be a place where we encourage each other as Fender owners and musicians, and celebrate the Fender instruments we love so much.

On just about every decent Forum...I'm not referring to the one's that seem like a smaller version of Congress....If you bring up a subject that is a bit silly and a little research at first would have made for a better question.....One is going to get sarcastic answers....Which is part of it, you roll with it, come back with a more eloquent repost.....

But when someone comes back with personal name calling or attacks, then the gloves are off and if you resort to name calling....regardless wether it is deserved or not...then you should accept whatever comes thru since you've opened the door.

If you want to try a Forum that doesn't suffer fools, that would be the Audizine Forum...
It is a Forum where if your question is well thought out and you have done some research, there is a lot of responding, however if you enter and dismiss people like they are clueless...then you'd better be wearing your Flamesuit....

The point is that... if you ask a question, you will get an answer which may very well be not what you wanted, But too Bad....
If the world has become a world in which only Politically Correct Answers can be given, lest we
offend the person asking the question with an answer that is contrary to that person's expectations....Then We are up the Creeks without Paddles....

Since you bring up Strat-O-Tele....I still believe to this day that that particular SOT is about issues which we cannot assess here from our sides of the Desktops. A recap of many of his threads and post illustrate that things are quite askew and I don't believe it was in a maliciously planned Machiavellan Agenda on his part...( of course I could be wrong But... :? )

I'm all for Q and A's, Debates, good arguments based on varying points of view.... But not for idiotic responses where someone got their knickers askew because they disliked whatever the response received...
And then set about implementing the sandbox syndrome....

I can be a very sarcastic guy, but there's a difference between being sarcastic and jumping down some poor member's throat because he or she posted something not too your favor.

And be glad Buxom, I'm much more high-strung in person.

I'm too uptight on these forums. if you knew me in real life, you'd be questioning my identity.

I have lived a rowdy life, but I try to be nice and civil on here, but I suspect I'm not. But I am trying my best. Kinda. I have a hard time being around civilized people. I hardly know how to act after a life in construction and time in the army. Please forgive me or I'll dot your eye.

Ya see, James, you're posting about a guy who started one of the most, if not the most, asinine threads in the history of this Forum; based on his extremely limited views which seemed mostly to be based on a few YouTube videos he'd watched. Then, when things got a little ornery, he deleted each and every one of his posts on that particular thread, leaving you nothing to go on but what was left.

Granted, he's now come back and started another couple of lackluster threads, but others (myself included) have given him some grief over his original thread (referred to above), not so much because of the thread itself, but because of the way he bailed and left Floyd at his helm of his shipwreck.

Simply put - avoid his threads and you'll avoid the rancor. Life's a you-know-what.

Anywhere you go in this world, including forums, has both nice people and not-so-nice people on them.

+1 So well said! I just use the foe list now and avoid the members who I don't get along with. If I don't see it I don't respond. Out of sight out of mind.

I have found this place to be a great source of support and help. Yes, there are some backhanders and brave 'net forum speak going on, but compared to some boards I hang out in (photography and audiofool), it is quite nice here. Especially grateful for the help in the Vintage Amps forum - Arjay and the gang were a great help for me in my super reverb restoration project. Thanks again all!
