Why don't we all write a line to a song, put it all together and see what we get??

I'll give possible themes - Trains/being late for trains/Being hit by trains

No-one will probably do it, but I thought it'd be a laugh.

I was actually thinking about this last week.

I could mix it. We just need to get some basic tracks down and have people record separate tracks and send them to me. I'll add tracks as they come in and do a final mix when all tracks have been completed.

I'm in.

I was on a forum that TRIED to do this once. It sounds like a really cool and fun idea, but it didn't work. But hey, we can try. I'm in.

the song needs a name so every one knows what direction to go in so
we need a mood or mind set so were not heading in a hundred different ways

Is there a genre? Or does everyone just send in their take on the theme in their fav genre? Are we going to mix the SRV wannabes with the emo's, shredders, death metal and folkies?

Try it all and sort out three or four songs from the mayhem.

now THAT would be a song  if thsi would ever happen, there would have to be a vote on the genre, tempo, progression and everything to make a backing track and such.... could get very complicated

I was thinking more along the lines of writing the lyrics to a song - pointless, but fun when it all comes together; it can be a song that was written by people all over the world and we could all use it as much as we wanted.

It can be whatever genre you want, I'm just thinking about lyrics really - we could just do a simple 12 bar blues piece, and if any one of us ever makes it in the music biz, they can play it and we'll be the ones who wrote it! Optimistic I know, but life's too short! Let's just do it for the hell of it!

Maybe the first line should be:

"I fell asleep on the train and missed my stop..."

now you go.
