not to sound deffensive or anything, as i hate attention seekers as much as you do. but just cause your wealthy, have a great family, all the above, doesn't mean you cant be depressed about life.
but yeah i get where your coming from, moron's who go, 'DaDDIe wont BUyY meh aNODErR SC00tA S0 IMAA G0 cUT mySELfF Nd T3LL eveRY1!!!1!'

That's how most are in my school. A lot of them have really good lives as far as most people see it. But if you're really depressed, are you going to brag about it?

That old hippy had a good point: Everyone does have soul, and each one is as different as each individual person is different from another.

Unfortunately, some people subvert their souls in a quest for wealth, fame or what they consider happiness. Or worse yet, because they're afraid to let it show.

I did live in the 60's & 70's and guess what.......
.......there was plenty to complain about back then as well!!!!!

I learned a long time ago to allow people (as if it's within my power - lol) to be who they are, enjoy them for who they are.
Life itself throws enough curve balls that we can't dodge, so why let other's taste in music or what they believe in or how they act become my hang up?

We only walk this earth one time, so learn to enjoy it.

Peace brothers. :D

there is no way to live with others beliefs without them impacting your own way of life. the world has always had a battle of belief and it always will be!

Here's a piece of advice from somebody who was a teenager in the '60s (me)....not every old person who wants to look like an old hippie actually was hippiefied in the '60s....we can tell the difference.

I was in high school in the 60s, in the army in 1969, Vietnam in 1970. I was a hippie when I got out of the army, drove my in-laws absolutely crazy; but to look at me now, you'd never know what I was back then. That's what having kids of your own and house payments will do to you. :D

I'm not sure there are really any "hippies" left out there. Having long hair, wearing a fatigue jacket and playing a guitar outside Wal-Mart doesn't make you one. I don't think any real, self respecting hippie would play guitar outside Wal-Mart - ever! He'd just end up on the "People at Wal-Mart" web site.

Do fake hippies watch fake musicians at a fake concert? Ludnuts??

I agree. Today's kids are terrible. Why the hell did "emo" even become "cool"?
wow, im sorry, just wow...... okay from a person of my generation emo was never cool, emo was what a bunch of pimple faced morons who begged there mom to drive em to hot topic liked, and it wasent even real emo. Real emo is stuff like Rites of Spring, post hardcore stuff with emotion, not fall out boy get my jeans as tight as possible girl crying crap. No, whats facing popularity and could potentially be as worse for rock n roll as the G(ay)L.A.M(etal) was is dubstep.

An aging hippie told me about how he played guitar outside of a Walmart not too long ago. He gave me the most incredible advice I've ever heard.

"Don't be so quick to judge the way someone plays, no matter how young or old, because everybody's playing has soul. Some people's soul just moves at a different speed, some people's soul is louder, some people's souls aren't pleasant as others', but everybody's playing has soul."

And he walked off into the distance. Never saw him again. He was just a cool old man and I respect him highly.

I like old hippies. I am married to an old Filipino hippie! Great story, and thanks for sharing...

For those who posted in a negative way, it was just sort of a life changer.

Negative Creed, notice the quotation marks?

Thanks for the laugh! I'm a product of the 60's too, hippie? Maybe, I looked the part but was a Rocker. Funny thing all of the hippies and heads are now conservative.
