i own a hot rails squier and i was looking at getting a bullet as hss. knowing both of these are basswood i was assuming they would be the same weight but are they? any major differences? thanks.

I can tell you that not all of the Bullets weigh the same. Some of the Basswood Bullet HH guitars actually weighed as much as an Alder bodied guitar. When I bought my Bullet HH last year, I specifically picked up every one in the store and picked out the lightest one. It weighed just barely over 4lbs. So as far as weight is concerned, be aware that it's very sporadic.

i have a tanglewood cheapie that's meant to be basswood and it's very light. the hot rails which is meant to be basswood is as heavy as the standard i have. (agathis.) do fender stick with the woods quoted? i was wondering if they ever substituted for paulownia? which is a good tonewood.
also do they stick to the exact same routing templates for the bullet as they do the other squiers? (neck/ body shape etc.)
