I have recently bought a nos 2008 strat. When I removed the plastic on the pickguard it left a sticky residue. Any suggestion on how to remove it? I've tried acetone and Goo Gone with so so results. Thanks for any ideas.

Remove it completely from the body, electronics, etc. Get some of those rough scrub Lysol wipes and go to town on it. Or get a Mr.Clean magic eraser. Those things could probably rub the finish right off your guitar.

I didn't do it. I guess she wanted to test the sponge.
