Just wondering what others use on stage. Show some pics if you have any.

I just started back playing after taking a "short break" that ended up lasting several years. We mainly play country and southern rock.
Here's what I'll be using this Saturday night.

Image

The P- Bass is a 1975 model I bought used, but in "like new condition" in 1978. It's not much too look at, but it still plays and sounds nice. I bought the Jazz bass (which I play 95% of the time) new in 1992. It also plays and sounds great.
The Sennheiser wireless, Hartke HA5500, Tech 21 Bass Boost Chorus Pedal, SansAmp Bass DI and Hartke 4 x 10 HyDrives are new.
I have had the Furman Power Conditioner, Korg Tuner and dbx Compressor/Limiter since my old playing days. They still work very well.
I get the sound I like with this set up - a nice clean, punchy sound with plenty of bottom that stays clear and doesn't muddy up.
We'll be playing a medium size club expecting 250 to 500 people. I run out of the Hartke amp to the board so that my settings are in the mix. Of course I don't touch anything after sound has been set.

I love those Hartke 410 cabs with the aluminum cone drivers. So punchy and spanky and alive. I had a chance to play a rig with two Hartke cabs driven by a Boogie 400+ a number of years ago. It was a revelation.

My guitar rig is in a state of flux these days. I`m constantly changing its configuration searching for a balance between too much and too little. Don`t play the bass much anymore but still have some gear. SWR and Fender Jazz.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I'm mainly a keys player and 2nd guitarist, depending on the song.

My current guitar rig is straightforward:-

Seymour Duncan modded later model Highway 1 Strat or PRS SE Custom 24 into pedals: 1) Boss TU2 tuner, 2) Vox Cooltron "Snake Charmer" valve compressor, 3) Fulltone OCD overdrive (sometimes a Fulltone Fulldrive 2 - can't decide which I prefer), 4) EHX chorus. The pedals run into the front of a slightly crunchy Fender Blues Junior (Celestion V30 driver). Solos are boosted with the fat switch on the BJ.

I use a Planet Waves switched guitar lead, so I can change guitars noiselessly as necessary. There's a 3rd guitar there as well, tuned down to Eb for 2 numbers. That is usually a much modified Squier Std/Seymour Duncan Strat.

If its my turn to take a spare guitar, it's either my Telecaster or PRS SE Soapbar II.

Do you have any sound clips of you playing that Mike? I love some good blues played on a harmonica.

The speakers in the HyDrive series are a hybrid type. The aluminum is only a couple of inches then it's paper. In theory you get the best of both worls - a clean, punchy sound with plenty of bottom. I'm amazed just how much bottom I can get out of those 10" speakers. I did hooked them up once with an old Peavy 2 x 15 cabinet I have (has to be at least 30 years old) and I couldn't believe how good it sounded.
This is the first Hartke rig I've owned. I heard a few SWR's back in the day and I really liked them. Around here it seems that Ampeg is what most are using, but if you can't find the sound you want with the Hartke HA5500, well you aint tryin' hard enough. It has a Tube and Solid State Pre-Amp controls, Compression, 10 Band Equalizer and Low & High controls.
I set the my sound on the amp only at first, then I bring in the dbx which is hooked up through the effects loop, then I clean it all up with the SansAmp. So far I'm able to get the sound I want doing that way.

I wish I could get the sound with my electrics that I can get with my MK Firefly acoustic.

So I'm curious to see what others are using. What type of music are you playing, what sound do you like and what equipment are using to get that sound?

My Deluxe Blackout Tele and my Jet City jca2112rc. Of the several guitars I own, the Tele gets about 99% of the playing time.

When I feel the need to blow sheet rock off the ceiling, this usually gets the job done......

Image

When the stage or band riser is large enough, I'll run this pair in tandem for some quasi-stereo effects......

Image

Most of the time it's simply a mid-powered combo......

Considering some of the others on here. This isn't alot but it's my bass setup as far as what I have, I usually take two basses with me to every gig.

I've had great luck with that amp. Line 6 Lowdown 300 watt, line out straight to the board for easy mixing, simple pedal for 4 sounds, 1-clean and bassy, 2-clean but a little "funkier" tone wise, 3-some chorus for the slow ones, and 4-just a shade on the octaver to fill an empty spot while our guitarist is on a solo. And the pedal has a built in tuner. This and my wireless and I'm ready to play.

This is it basically, sold that particular strat. But use my Wine red one with a HotRod Deluxe, not much but works for the small church I play in.
