Hello All,

I go to two guitar shows a year. I buy some sheet music
or a video. I really have a good time seeing the huge
varieties of guitars, amps, and who knows what.

Best of all I've had the opportunity to play some of the great
guitars of all time{even though the ones I played weren't
necessarly the greatest}.

I've been going to guitar shows now for about 15 years,
they are a little different now but still a fun afternoon.

Any other folks out checking out the shows.

Hi Mr.Bill,

Do you go to NAMM shows or guitar trade/selling conventions?

Either way, sounds like fun. I'll have to go to one sometime...

Hello Secretsoundz,

I've never been to a NAMM show, the selling/trading
type are the ones I go to. One differance I notice is how
were not as encouraged by the vendors to sample the wares.
I remeber playing '59 Les Paul with a selling price of 10G's
today they want 25x that price. Always a good time though.

Cheers.

Theres a 'vintage' show I've been at last year and will go again this year, it's trade/sell show with some clinics and jams as well, but also Gibson, T-Rex and some national stores used the opportunity to show off some wares, wasn't able to find a fender booth except the major store here that is an authorized fender dealer
I like it cause i'm a vintage freak

I'm pretty sure it's nothing compared to an American show as most of the guitars is imported from the US and sold for 3 times as much

There aren't any shows in my area that I am aware of. I would love to go to one, it sounds like a lot of fun.

Here is a link to a Guitar Show Calendar - http://www.guitarshowcalendar.com/

Living in the northeast - the only show is the one in Saratoga Springs, NY in May and again in October. I'm going to try the May one to see how it is.

Hope the link helps.

Most likely - too many guitar shops! NYC, like LA and Nashvile are covered with guitar shops - both small and large.

I imagine that guitar/music shows are to attrack an larger audience in venues that have only 1 or 2 smaller shops.

Just my 2 cents

I've been to a couple of the "Premier" guitar shows. I knew some of the people who were either sellers or promoters and they usually advertise in advance at this link -

I'd love to go to a NAMM show or a guitar show of some other sort--if I ever hear of one nearby--I'm there.

One or two a year. For the ambiance. 'Never bought a guitar or amp at one. Usually books, strings....
