Alain, I guess the trouble with such nice guitars is that you'd be too afraid of hurting them to really rock...

Yes, you're right

They probably sound right fine in the studio, though!

Looks like a Deluxe in first pic, beautiful quilted maple. :D

It's an American Standard with some fancy upgrades such as the quilted maple top and 1-piece flamed maple neck/fretboard. Deluxes will have a 21-fret compound neck with strong arm bar, active circuitry with 18v power supply, active/passive toggle switch and a PJ configuration with a Super 55 SC Jazz Bass pickup in the bridge.

You see....even The Shadow knowzzzzzz.................

You know...I hate when Fender comes on like that. Reminds me of a girl in JHS whose name was Carolyn Townes. We used to love busting her chops by making fun of her initials......

Well....welcome to the Forums. I guess its different strokes time again. If that one doesn't please you, go to www.guitarmotel.com where he and his guitar collector friends have put together a showcase of some of the instruments they own, and select something that suits you better. That tacky guitar to you is likely one of the most beautiful pieces of Fender art on the planet, done by one of their reknown Masterbuilders.

But....what do I know? :?

the guitar in that picture is like the musical equivalent of

Image

Is the fender logo on the fretboard really necessary?

i took a quick browse on the website, not all, but a lot of what i saw was also tacky, i think i saw a chromed out guitar. i think a rapper did that once to his car. i'm sure it's a very nice guitar.

Apparently, Yuri thought so. Personally, I don't see the same clean esthetic in the watch as I see in the guitar. It's a matter of taste, of course. There are guitars done by the Custom Shop which would complement the watch. I don't care for them either.

Yes.
Yuryi emigrated from Russia to the USA in the '90s
Before he was trying to make guitars in his very small basement workshop; so small he had to open the door to make a Bass.

Then the USA welcomed him and now he is one the Fender Custom Shop Senior Masterbuilders, the Cream Of The Cream.
He is proud now to be an American Citizen.
He is proud to be a Senior MasterBuilder of The Fender Custom Shop
When he made the ten "Russian Strats" to be sold only in Russia to Russian Citizens, he was very proud to put the Fender Custom Shop Logo on the fretboard.

And I'm sure the Fender Custom Shop is very proud to have him onboard.

I'm sure of it. You know that it has been my custom around here to put forth a bit of sage advice and gentle persuasion where needed to tweak the art of constructive criticism in the artless, if you get my drift. To put it another way:

"don't rain on my parade and then hand me an umbrella with holes in it"
