Really like the finish on those guitars. Is fender going to offer flame/quilted tops on the cheaper mexican guitars? Perhaps Sunburst Strat standard, flame top? That would be awesome... :D

Thanks for sharing those, Brad.

I think flames and quilts just look plain wrong on a Fender... kinda like covering a Zippo in diamonds!
To do some proctology on it - I think the 3D quality of highly figured wood needs a carved-top to really just POP.

Lookin' forward to seeing some more, man!

Keith Richards, Jimmy Page, Rory Gallagher, SRV, Hendrix... they wouldn't be seen dead playing that guitar.
What's more, just supposing you did see one of them playing anything like that... wouldn't your heart sink a bit?

If you enjoy it, for playing or displaying or whatever, that's great. Not for me, though...but thanks for posting the pic and it's always great to see what the custom shop are capable of producing.... however ostentatious and Sheikh-worthy that may be!

I've seen Paul Rodgers playing an exquisite Jaguar/Stratocaster, That's already enough for me..

I noticed that; the post from ME mentioning how it was a CS model has disappeared also - perhaps it should never have been posted!

Alain, it's the 25th anniversary of the Fender Custom Shop next year, right?
