I am currently saving for a songwriter special acoustic and i'm afraid that the price is going to rise then it's going to be discontinued. I'm fourteen and have already started saving and am on my way (i don't know if i'd be able to get enough in time though) but I think my parents would let me do the payment plan or loan me the money i am short if i could get a job (wow that was a long sentence!).

I have always worked really hard and am very good with money. I'm not sure what I could do and any suggestions would be appreciated. I will do any job and am thinking about trying to find a job at McDonalds etc. The hard part is my age but any help or suggestions would really help me!

Figures that my perfect guitar turns out to be a limited edition! :x

When I was a kid,,, WOW,,, that was a
long time ago... In the winter I used to
shovel the snow out of peoples drive-
ways... In the summer I'd mow lawns...

All that for money of course...

Sometimes the term "Limited Edition" isn't as limited as you think. I believe the Squier Black & Chrome and Custom Teles are supposed to be a "limited run", but they have been making them for about 4 years now, so to me, thats not too limited...So you may luck out if the "Limited Edition" is produced for a couple of years...

Yes, the lawn mowing suggestion is a great one. For what people are getting these days per lawn, you'll have your guitar in no time!

When my son was fourteen, he got a job as a clerk, putting away books at a local library. It paid pretty good. Sometimes schools have postings like this for p/t jobs. Check with your guidance councellor.

And then babysit after the sun goes down. Always do totally excellent work for the time you are getting paid. Be classy. You WILL get your instrument. Best of fortune.

This happens to me all the time. Like, ALL the time. One thing that I've come to realize is that no matter how many guitars I see that I want, I know there is always going to be some new guitars coming out that I want just as bad.

I usually get a new one each month (bass). My uncle is the owner of a shop here in SC, and I get a new one each month! I do have a couple that I keep, though (I pay for those).

Fwiw, I have a MIM Jazz Bass I bought used. It was $250, w/ohsc. Go used and you can gert a Fender (or Squier) product rather than an SX or other knock-off, if that's what you'd prefer. If you go used, an MIM Fender, or Squier, is not thtat expensive.

(I should note I have an Agile myself, from Rondo Music, and am not knocking either Rondo, SX, Agile, or their leader guy, Kurt, who is a good egg.)

The first guitar I bought on my own was bought with money saved from part time jobs when I was in school. You can do it--and keep your eye on the goal.

It's nice to hear of a teenager actually willing to work for something *sigh*. It's refreshing. Nowadays nobody wants to work, young people just expect to be handed stuff. I'm not old -28- but when I was a teenager I had to work in the hay fields and do all other types of jobs to make a little money. And I had to walk barefoot in the snow 5 miles to school up hill both ways...LOL

I had to walk up hill both ways to get to school, actually. I lived on one side of a valley and the school was on the other. It was a total $@!&*

It is refreshing.
It's also a good feeling to work at something and get the reward.
In this case--a guitar.
