A day through meaningful spots in your relationship. Basically, you take her on a massive date through places that have something special to do with you guys' relationship with a nice dinner in the end and you walking her home. It's more of a sentimental thing.

How about giving her a day at a spa package where they give the customer a full body massage,a manicure,a pedicure etc.I'm giving my Missus one along with the other stuff I have for her.

Be sure to wake her up by playing her a song with meaning to both of you. I'm trying to get tears of joy, here.

Any time. I sort of did that last night with a lass from Texas who stole my heart. We had a ton of memories in this place right near her house over the past few years and we just watched a movie and went to a ton of those places within that place. Great fun, and I didn't mind emptying my wallet.

I think you can pay to name stars after people, that might be worth looking into.

what's she into?
some girls would love a song written just for them. that would be nice, i'd love that, but by boyfriend isn't musically oriented...
maybe make her a plaque or something she can put in her house?
a huge thing of flowers, then a candle lit dinner and a movie?
all of the above coming from a chick.
it ll depends on the chick and what she's into..

We don't celebrate Christmas or Valentine's or our birthdays (religious reasons), but we make a big deal of our wedding anniversary and every year I try to out-do the previous year in romantic or cool gifts.

If she likes to read, find a first edition of her (old) favorite book or a collection of her favorite author's work...or if she likes a particular artist, get a high-end print or lithograph framed. Something artistic + romantic + unique=Happy Girlfriend

I wrote a song for her, and it still makes her smile/cry (I'm assuming because she likes it, not because my singing is so bad :? )...

I realize y'all live in a cold area, but a picnic is always romantic...maybe there is a museum that rents out a portion for parties, just set up a picnic there...

Many years ago, I took Lady Armadillo on her first real picnic at the Botanical Gardens in Fort Worth, Texas for our third wedding anniversary...wine, chocolate-covered strawberries, melon balls, I was reading her favorite book to her...and in the midst of all that, a bird dropped dead out of the tree right beside us. So for her charm bracelet (we add a charm for each big event in our life together) I put a bird on there for her first picnic/our 3rd wedding anniversary.

Which brings me to this--Lady Armadillo is not a "jewelry type" of girl either, but she has a silver charm bracelet that I started for her. There's an armadillo symbolizing me, a baby shoe for when Baby Armadillo (now Armadillo 'Tween) was born, a weenie dog for our first dog and a terrier for our second, a little Alamo for something I can't remember ( ), etc.

You could start a charm bracelet and put a couple of charms denoting big or special events in your relationship...a guitar symbolizing you, a snowflake denoting how cold your locale is, etc...it would be a nice romantic "secondary" gift at least...

SA, a lady friend of mine said that her dad was on the country/blues scene in Texas and I immediately thought of you

Nevin, good to see your post Bro. All of the suggestions so far are very good. If there is something that she has told you that she likes, whether a movie (take her there) or a restaurant, play, ballet, opera, concert, if she enjoys staying in and watching TV grant her wish. Gift wise I'm from the "some thing small and heartfelt" school of thought like a locket with an inscription or one that you place a small photo into that can go on a chain for the neck, wrist, or where ever ( silver or at least 14 karat gold so if it touches her skin surface it won't turn green, lol), rather than something large and gaudy. The chain should be delicate not something a rapper would wear. Again, if you know she may like that, you'll make very her happy.
