Hi all. Just thought id share my Ngd. My new 62Hot Rod strat. Had it a few days and lovin it. Neck getting quicker all the time, and plays great. Really like the large C neck after being a bit unsure after various demo trip to the shop. Great biuld quality. Not 100% on the 57/62 pups. Fancy a set of Bareknuckle Irish Tours, but will stick with the stock one for the time being and see how i feel about once i ve seen how well the work in the mix in the studio or gigged. Was purchased to be a working guitar cos of my paranoia of using my Cutom Shop live in a pub and the hazards that go with it. Beer = balance issues = damage.
Anyway, here its is

Yeah. I'm liking it the more I play it. I wasn t sure when I first started trying one out. But everything else of the peg felt like a matchstick in my hands as I prefer a larger neck profile. I tried it on and off for about a month before i pulled the trigger. My one is the third one i tried. The first one had shop damage and they wouldnt move enough on price. The second they ordered in and went straight back as it had lifted frets out of the box. This one was flawless build wise. The custom shop on the left in the pic is a 65c which is nice and chunky. Gonna let the guitar settle and play in for a bit before I do anything set up wise. Plays great as it is at the mo.

Cheers all for the comments. And yes. I did have to be patient. I had a couple of ideas with what I wanted to do. Be it parts caster. Custom build or get something and use it as a base for modding. Going to last big spend on guitar related stuff for a while so I wanted to make sure it was right decision. This ticked all the boxes for me pretty much. And the only thing I can see me changing may be the pups for a set of Irish tours. But not definate on that yet. The 57/62 just don't feel like they have the mid range punch and fullness that I like.

Sure are a beautiful pair of strats. How does the new one sound with a bit of dirt behind it?

That's about the only time that they sound goods to me. I ve only recently got the fulldrive so I'm still exploring sounds with it. But with a bit a drive and a little bit of a bottom end bump on the eq pedal it's a very Srv ish and nails pride and joy tone all day long. If they had more of a midrange hump and a touch hotter they would be ideal for my taste. They may just need a bit of tweaking on the height but clean they do feel a touch lifeless to me. But I will say that they do handle alot of drive very well and maintain there clarity with no mushy ness.

That's good to know. I hardly ever play clean so it shouldn't be an issue for me. Been looking for my first strat for a while now and not found one that can handle a lot of gain without sounding thin. Cheers
