So I've been doing a lot of pickup swaps and such for my friends and co-workers lately, and along the way I have been accepting payment in the form of either cash or gear. The day before yesterday, I got lucky and got a sweet o/d pedal for a quick 20 minute job I did, and I must say I'm really impressed with this thing. The pedal is a Biyang Tonefancier X-drive od-8. Essentially it is a TS808 clone, but the similarities are honestly few. This pedal comes with 3 changeable; modular chip sets. It had the JRC4558 installed originally but after trying the other 2 I settled on the slightly brighter of the 3 chips. There is also a 3 way switch on top of the pedal to choose TS, BRIGHT, or WARM overdrive; so with 3 chipsets and 3 very different sounds available on the switch this pedal is really 9 sounds in one box. Can't beat it. And the modular chip sets are a feature I think should be offered on more pedals for sure.

Sounds to come soon.

Congratulations Tim! Here is a vid showing the 3 chips but in the demonstration the guitarist only tests one. Looking forward to hearing them all.

Nice!! I don't have that model, but I do have a Biyang Metal End. It's very versatile as well. I used it for all of the solos on our CD. The only problem I have with it is that the switches aren't very durable. There was one in particular that I'd accidentally kicked with my toe too many times live, and it eventually started cutting in and out.

I still used it for a solo on one of our new recordings though. You can get a killer EVH type sound with it, and that's what the song called for. I love the sounds of Biyang's distortions, I just wish they would use more of a slider switch rather than a mini toggle.

Yeah guys this thing is sweet and built very well. I'm loving the bit of color it adds to my tone, while still managing to maintain clarity; even at high gain settings. I'm using the OD-8 for my rhythm o/d, and using a BOSS SD-1 as a solo boost, and I'm really enjoying the versatility of having two different overdrives to play around with on different parts of song.

Those videos are a pretty good representation of this pedal SBLS, I looked around and didn't find many good videos or sound clips of this pedal.

Yeah, Ted, I did kind of notice that the switch doesn't feel as good as some, but if it has to be replaced, it's no biggie to me.

Not so much yet, but I have a few purchases planned for 2012. Getting everything at cost is a nice bonus
But it also hurts knowing what I paid for my Taylor 614 and seeing what I could get it for now.

It is indeed. Pedals have become some of my favorite toys these days. I've gotten three wah pedals, two overdrives and a chorus pedal, all as trades for modding guitars for people.
