Hey guys,
I don't have any experience in this, so all your suggestions are very appreciated.

I want to convert the fender blacktop jazzmaster (http://www.fender.com/fr-FR/products/bl ... dNo=014840) into a baritone guitar.
What type of neck will fit? I was suggested to buy a warmoth neck.
Do you have any other suggestions?
Is it a big deal or i can do it myself?
Thanks,
Jonathan

Welcome.

You MUST use the same length neck you currently have or your guitar will never intonate.

Really?
Most people said it's possible with a longer scale. At least 27-28.
I need to know if it's the baritone conversion neck for strat, or for tele that i need..

Yes, really. Evidently, your mind is made up; good luck with your project.

"You MUST use the same length neck you currently have or your guitar will never intonate."

That's not entirely correct. It's true that you can't use a standard baritone neck on a guitar intended for a shorter scale length. But Warmoth baritone conversion necks have the frets spaced so that when you install them on Fender-scale bodies, the 12th fret is halfway between the nut and bridge (saddles) so there's no problem with intonation.

You can't use a Warmoth baritone conversion neck on a regular baritone guitar because the frets are in the wrong place for a normal long-scale body.

Warmoth also makes short conversion necks -- those have Gibson's 24.75" scale but the frets are spaced so that they work on Fender-style bodies.

As far as I know Warmoth is the only manufacturer of baritone conversion necks.
http://www.warmoth.com/Guitar/necks/warmoth_baritoneneck.aspx

As a collary, there are 25.5" Fender-scale necks that you can't use on Fender-style bodies. On some shedder-style 24-fret necks the heel extends all the way to the end of the fretboard (instead of having a fretboard extension for the extra 3 frets). If you bolt one of those on a Fender body the 12th fret will be closer to the nut than to the bridge so it won't intonate correctly.

the warmoth conversion necks are made to replace a standard neck and they DO intonate properly. that is how they are designed they lengthen the neck and offset the scale to work with a standard body. I am not sure what neck pocket you need but warmoth could tell you
