Just wondering, is there anyone who doesnt respect the man, I mean in terms of a humble guitar god, he is among the greatest, I mean just watching the man inspires me and teaches me new stuff, like I really utilize his picking up technique on the lighter strings for more resonance, I considered using GHS strings and Dunlop Jazz III picks and was reassured once I discovered he used em, i mean hes like the perfect guitarist if there was such one. I mean he plays it as an instrument but yet saturates it with his flawless style and emotion that you would think would pollute it or give it a slur, but it just polishes it all off. God Bless Him.

What's not to like? Seriously talented, a bit eccentric and OCD, but very humble.

I never really got what he was talking about with the up stroke on the higher strings. I saw a video once and he briefly touched on the subject. I know down strokes and upstrokes have different pick attack on the string. Can you explain what he thought the advantage is and how to use it?

What I love about his playing is the classical feel it has, with scales and tone you don't hear with anybody else.

He's a nice guy--a little quirky (ok, as far as gear is concerned, Very quirky...) but pretty cool nonetheless. I've met him a couple of times in passing, and he's very gracious.

I've seen him three times in concert, and every time I walk away thinking, "How in the world did he do that?" the obvious answer is that he's an alien from another planet... :P (or if he's an alien, should that :P be a  ?)

The first time I saw him, he had a pedalboard that would rival the one used by The Edge from U2, but the next two times, he had pared it down significantly.

Met him once a few years back, really nice chap! Really modest and genuine, and definitely on the quirky side when discussing gear.

I absolutely love his tone, and his playing, although sometimes I tend to feel it's a bit too nice at times.

One of the few famous guitarists I would really like to meet. I would like to meet Blackmore but hopefully on one of his "good" days.

i've seen him live 3 times. 2 times with a band and once was a solo unplugged show in fort worth. the unplugged show was amazing. AMAZING. we sat 10 or 15 feet away directly in front. the man never missed a lick. he might be a machine or an alien or something. i don't know. seemed to be a very humble dude with gobs and gobs of talent.

Being kinda Quirky is a privilege that comes along with being Successful at what you do. I don't know the man but in all the interviews I've seen and heard, he comes of as a genuinely nice guy. and one h@&* of a good guitarist. And in my book if your from Austin your OK. 8)
