Strat-o-Tele has been yanked for the time being as he's been the source of numerous recent complaints. Strat-o-Tele, if you wish to participate here further you will need to contact me offline. There are others that we are currently having to consider for this same action as well currently. Have a pleasant weekend, everyone.

It's a shame things like this happen, but thank you Brad....it has to be a bothersome thing to deal with as a moderator.

Thank you. I love this site. There are so many people on this site that have really made this place special in terms of guitar knowledge, stories, etc. I'm not one of them. I'm more of a creeper, but I read threads daily and will continue to do so. Sometimes people contribute the wrong way and take away from what this place is all about. Thanks again.

Brad, if a member has done something to even consider a ban then it must be for a good reason and you should follow through. Everyone needs a slap on the wrist now and then, new and old members alike. You're the sheriff, put your boots and clean up this town.

Thank you Brad.It is a shame that it even comes to this.I remember when this forum could easily manage (moderate) itself on it own due to the maturity of 99% of the members. It would really be a bummer to lose some great members because of one or two people go and ruin it for everyone else.I think we were coming close to actually having that occur.Hopefully Mr. Knucklehead will realize that he could of learned alot of cool things from some very knowledgeable members if he would of acted like an adult. His loss
Enough of the rant...now back to our usual programming.

I just want to put my 2-cents in on this with all due respect to everyone.

Personally, I've been able to not respond to the kid's stuff pretty easily. I've been writing songs, building my projects, working my job, playing shows, etc.. I seriously didn't have the time for it. I stop by and read here and there, post something from time to time, and just do my thing.

In the past, I've run across people who were far worse that Strat-o-Tele on forums and even been involved in intense flaming. Straight-up wars with people.

Once you come to terms with the way thing are and how much of a waste of time it can all be to vacillate over one person, then you can finally get on with what's more important in your lives. Eventually, I was a moderator on another forum myself and you start to learn a few things.

First of all, there really is no banning anyone. It's a smoke-screen to the forum population. Kids these days vacillate way more than adults when it comes to flaming and internet arguments and it's really easy for them to hit up their local libraries, schools, churches, Kinkos, phones, etc.. Make a new name, account, and personality altogether, just to stick it to whoever flames or bans them. Not to mention, they have the time to do it.

So at the risk of sounding crude, the witch-hunt being created can in reality become worse than just ignoring or in a lot of cases just answering their questions and being done with responding if said person tries to bait an argument.

I guess my point is.. He will be back in some way or another. I've seen it many many times. And when that time comes, just try not to be so quick to run to the police and leave well enough alone. You can't win a game if nobody else is around to play it.

I don't try to police anyone. And a forum moderator should only be on the lookout for spam-bots and real problem people who post porn pics and such etc.. Not for this kind of thing.

This IS a great forum with true professionals on here. This really shouldn't have ever reached this point with this guy. Unfortunately it did and I have faith we'll all be a little wiser for the next one to come around.

Think of the waste of time for so many people to do that when someone is spending his time interferring with live threads...

I'm sure Brad can trace an IP so registering under a new profil through the same IP,would be a waste of time.
This happened on the French Forum and has been definitely solved.

Okay, so for the time being HE'S gone - how about deleting all of his worthless threads, too? I don't want to see his refuse, either.

Yea, I guess.. It never really wasted my time personally. It took me .02 seconds to skip over any post he made and I rarely if ever opened any of his OP threads. Too much attention was paid toward him in my opinion.

Public computers can be a real pain to a moderator. Different IPs all over the city including different family member's houses. And I've run across more than a few kids who went out of their way to use them to register and post again under a different name. It usually means a new email address as well. But I've run across some pretty relentless kids who will take the time to do all that. Pretty crazy.

I would say give it a week and his previous stuff will be off the front page at least. No need to have brad sift through and delete his stuff. It really makes threads look silly at that point. They appear more wrecked than if you just leave them there.

Anyway, I guess I made that 3-cents. I don't have any more money to spend on this topic. Hahaha.

Peace all. Have a good day on the forum. 8)

Nothing that little snot-picker ever posted had any socially-redeeming value.

Thanks Brad the kid certainly had it coming,he repeatedly ignored wise advise to tame down his posts and to post more relevant material but refused to heed and even became arrogant and argumentive about it.Now I hope that we can get back to some semblance of normal.

I really hate to see this happen to anyone, but than again I got on here the one day and 1/3 of the threads on page one were his nonsense. I wish there was a way the forum could limit his new threads and responces to a point where he could become active, but not a anoyance. This is a place for all of us to have open exchanges of ideas and speek our minds, to a point, without being just downright ignorent. Just a thought.
