personally i prefer C shape necks but a malmsteen neck is a modern C shape so it would be easy to fit on Squier's without a problem right?

The neck on my Strat project is a U I believe. Much beefier than my old Strat's.

I also think you should get a whole guitar, rather than add a signature neck to a half decent one.

Like buy a Malmsteen body and neck and then put them together?

No, buy a whole guitar. If you want a Malmsteen guitar, buy the whole thing.

I like a relatively chunky C shape, and Vs are quite nice too.

The profile of the neck makes absolutely no difference to whether or not it fits on a body.

As long as it's not broken, backbowed, warped, or twisted, it's fine with me.

I prefer them all. Each has it's own feel, sound, and inspiration, pluses and minuses.

I'd go nutz with one type of neck shape.

Tonight I'm practicing with two modern, flat oval necks, a soft C, a modern C! After that, hmmm...I could go with a hefty, sort of flat-fat U or ...maybe...a standard C shape, or both!

Fatter necks usually have thicker tone and longer, clearer sustain but are slowish depending upon how they are setup, n' visa versa with thinner necks.

If stuck on a desert island...tough one. Compound radius, 7 1/2 to 12" flattish, fattish, softish, modernish C shape to U.
...
